Five Patriots earn OAC honors
Five Jay County High School athletes presented with All-Olympic Athletic Conference basketball awards this week.
Pazia Speed and Eric Homan led the group of honorees as first-team selections while Brad Horn, Mariah Hornaday and Danielle Link picked up honorable mention.
Speed, who last week was named to Hoosier Basketball Magazine's list of top 60 seniors, averaged 14.8 points and totaled 96 assists and 57 steals to lead the Patriot girls team this season. She averaged 4.2 rebounds per game.
Homan led the Jay County boys to their ninth straight winning season, averaging 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds. He shot 51 percent from the field.
Horn averaged 9.3 points per game and hit 25 3-pointers.
Hornaday was the No. 2 scorer this year for the girls team at 8.6 points per game, and she led the squad with an average of 6.9 rebounds. Link averaged 6.6 points and 5.1 rebounds this year.[[In-content Ad]]
