Fort Recovery softball loses pair in Convoy (04/21/08)

CONVOY, Ohio - The Indians lost little and lost big Saturday.
Fort Recovery High School's softball team dropped its opener Saturday 2-0 to Lincolnview, and then fell 15-2 to the host Crestview Knights.
Kinsey Wenning suffered the defeat in game one as she allowed two runs on four hits and a walk in five innings. The game-two defeat went to Beth May, who gave up 12 runs - eight earned - on 10 hits and three walks.
The Indian bats managed four hits in each game, with Amy Hart driving in both runs with a single in game two. Heather Schmackers, Kelly Thien and Jessica Siegrist also had hits, and Ashley Grube scored a run.

Starfire baseball falls
BERNE - The South Adams baseball team fell behind 4-0 Saturday en route to a 6-2 loss to the visiting Eastbrook Panthers. The second game of the scheduled double-header was canceled because of rain.
Travis Hunt suffered the loss, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks in 2 2/3 innings. Ethan Sharp gave up two runs - one earned - in 4 1/3 innings of relief.
Daniel Bollenbacher had one of just three hits for the Starfires, smacking a two-run double. Jordan Steiner singled and scored a run, and Caleb Armenta also had a hit.
FR baseball loses
MINSTER, Ohio - The Fort Recovery baseball team had a two-run lead before giving up three in the bottom of the fourth and two in the fifth in a 7-4 loss Friday to the Minster Wildcats.
Greg Kahlig took the loss in relief, giving up three runs on two hits and three walks in two innings. Bobby Rammel and Curt Heitkamp each allowed two runs in two innings of work.
Brady Kahlig had an RBI single and a run for the Indians. A.J. Back drove in two runs, and Bobby Rammel had two hits.[[In-content Ad]]
