NEW BREMEN, Ohio — A balanced offensive attack helped lead the Fort Recovery High School volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-20, 27-25 victory Thursday over the New Bremen Cardinals.
Ericka Lennartz had seven kills for the Indians, who moved within a game of .500 at 3-4 and are now 1-1 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. Kelsey Fiely added six kills, and Holly Thien and Holly Brunswick totaled four apiece.
Brunswick also had 16 service points and 12 digs, and Lennartz added eight points. Shelby Brunswick finished with 13 assists and four blocks, Abby Backs came up with 11 digs, Kylie Kahlig racked up seven blocks and Fiely had four blocks.
Kayla Kahlig paced the junior varsity team with 17 assists, 11 points and three blocks in a 19-25, 25-22, 25-19 comeback victory. Mikayla Westgerdes added 10 digs and nine points, and Amy Link had eight kills.

7th grade ties Tigers
FORT RECOVERY — Derian Sheffer and Kyle Schroer powered the Fort Recovery seventh grade football team as it tied the Versailles Tigers at 26 Thursday. The eighth grade Indians lost 30-20.
Sheffer connected with Schroer on touchdown passes of 55, 50 and 15 yards for the Indians (1-1-1). He also added a 5-yard TD run and a 2-point conversion pass to Chase Bruns.
In the eighth grade game Ryan Muhlenkamp caught TD passes of 33 yards from Cole Hull and 65 yards form Mitch Stammen. Hull scored on a 35-yard run for the Tribe (0-3).[[In-content Ad]]
