FORT RECOVERY - Five swimmers racked up three individual wins apiece Monday to lead the Fort Recovery Eels summer swim team to a 928-383 victory over the Greenville Waves.
Fort Recovery had a triple winner in each age group, starting with Owen Sheridan in the 8-and-younger boys division. He finished first in the 25-meter butterfly, 25 backstroke and 100 individual medley.
Carley Stone won the 9-10-year-old girls 25 butterfly, 100 individual medley and 25 freestyle, and Cori Stone was first in the 13-14-year-old girls 50 butterfly, 100 individual medley and 50 freestyle.
MacKinely Timmerman took the 11-12-year-old boys 100 freestyle, 50 breaststroke and 50 freestyle, and Perry Hull won the 15-and-older boys 100 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 100 individual medley.
Marshall Hull, Riley Ellenberger, Ocean Loya, Andy Gray, Lane Hull, Ryan Grey, Gabe Muhlenkamp, Calvin Rammel and Jurnee Bechtol added two victories apiece. Single wins went to Katlin Wendel, Cassidy Martin, Alexis Bubp, Kady Ellenberger, Carissa Evers, Tana Hart, Nolan Thobe and Elaina Leon.
The Eels are 3-1 overall and undefeated at 3-0 in the State Line Swim Conference.
Jay falls short
CELINA, Ohio - The Jay County Summer Swim Team fell just a few points short, losing 308-300 Monday to Celina.
The Vormohr and Bader cousins accounted for all five triple-event winners on the evening, with Sophie Bader and Sok Vormohr dominating the 11-12-year-old division.
Bader took the top spot in the girls butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke while Vormohr won the boys butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke.
Eliza Bader took the 8-and-younger girls breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke, Alex Bader earned victories in the 9-10-year-old girls butterfly, individual medley and backstroke and Anne Vormohr jumped up an age group to take first in the 13-14-year-old butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke.
Sydney Mathias, Katy Smeltzer, Zane Shreve, Eme Miller, Mary Hudson and Sam Miller all won two events. Single wins went to Noah Hummel, Ashley Mark, Connor Daniels, Aaron Hudson and Neal Fennig.
