VERSAILLES, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s Reece Grieshop placed second in the 220-pound weight division at the Versailles junior varsity invitational Saturday.
The senior went 2-1 in the 11-man bracket to finish runner-up. He beat Ryan Lowden of Wapakoneta 15-9 and pinned Brandon Roark of Celina in two minutes, 52 seconds.
Covington’s Ian Fries pinned Grieshop in 2:30 for the championship.
Grieshop was the only wrestler to represent Fort Recovery at the invitational, and his 22 points were good enough for a three-way tie for 16th in the team standings with Greenville and the Versailles B-team.
Bath had the highest team score with 117.5 points.
FR freshmen win big
FORT RECOVERY — Micaiah Cox scored 21 points for the Fort Recovery High School freshmen boys basketball team Monday.
The entire Botkins Trojans team scored 19.
The Indians dismantled Botkins 53-19 behind Cox’s dominating scoring performance. He also added eight rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Tribe.
