FR boys swimmers win

LIMA, Ohio — The Fort Recovery High School boys swim team went 3-0 at Saturday’s five-team meet. It defeated Marion Local 40-20, Lima Central Catholic 35-24 and Parkway 39-3.
The FRHS girls lost to St. Henry 40-10, Marion Local 75-7 and LCC 83-3.
Marshall Hull and Mitch Homan powered the boys team’s victory as they teamed with Lane Hull and Andy Gray to win the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relays. Marshall Hull added a victory in the 100 butterfly, and Homan took the top spot in the 200 individual medley.
Kelly Hull placed third for the Indian girls in the 200 individual medley.
FR freshmen split
COLDWATER, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s freshman girls basketball team defeated the Coldwater Cavaliers 24-12 Monday. The boys team lost, 32-27.
Lexi Schmitz scored nine points for the Tribe girls, who pulled to within a game of .500 at 4-5. Kelsee Ontrop added six points.
Kent Retz totaled 14 points as the FRHS boys team dropped to 3-3.
Kyle Timmerman had four points and eight rebounds.

Chiefs top Tribe
East Jay Middle School’s girls basketball teams defeated visiting Fort Recovery Monday. The Chief eighth graders scored a 22-19 victory and the seventh grade won 18-14.
Catherine Dunn scored eight points for the East Jay eighth grade squad, which led by two at halftime. and Breanne McIntire added seven points.
Tori Lennartz totaled 10 points for the Indians (5-4).
Abby Wendel scored more than half of the Chief seventh graders points as she finished with 10. Ava Kunkler followed with four.
Kirsten Jutte tallied five points as Fort Recovery fell to 3-6.

EJ defeats Eagles
DUNKIRK — The East Jay sixth grade girls basketball team topped West Jay 25-10.
Kaity Grady and Lilly Rogers each scored three points for the Eagles (0-2).
Kyndall Miller had four points as West Jay won the B team game 10-9.[[In-content Ad]]
