FR golfers lose to Marion Local

CELINA, Ohio — Elijah Kahlig posted the best score of the night.
It wasn’t quite enough to lift the Indians to a win.
The Fort Recovery High School boys golf team came up just short Thursday, falling 200-202 to the Marion Local Flyers at Mercer County Elks Golf Club.
Kahlig recorded three of the Indians’ five pars, playing even on the par-5 first hole, the par-4 fourth and the par-4 ninth. He also had four bogeys and shot 45.
Chase Bruns was the only other FRHS player to break 50, finishing with one par on the way to a 49.
Adam Kremer paced Marion Local with a 48.
Josh Pohl, who had one par, Kent Retz and Derek Backs all finished at 54 for Fort Recovery.
Volleyball loses
NEW BREMEN, Ohio — Fort Recovery fought off the New Bremen Cardinals in the third game, but couldn’t force a fifth as it fell 25-11, 25-13, 19-25, 25-12 Thursday.
Cassidy Rammel totaled eight assists for the Indians, who dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. She also had five service points and four blocks.
Tori Lennartz totaled seven blocks and six kills, and Kelsey Fiely had six digs and six service points. Hannah Kaup came up with 12 digs.
FRHS also dropped the junior varsity match 25-13, 25-18. Rachel Pugh had seven assists, seven digs and three kills.
Homans lift 7th
ANNA, Ohio — Cousins Will and Aaron Homan connected on the game-winning touchdown passes in the final seconds Thursday, lifting the Fort Recovery Middle School seventh grade football team to a 12-6 victory over the Anna Rockets. The eighth grade team lost 16-0.
Will Homan tossed a 1-yard TD pass to Aaron Homan with 1.6 seconds left in the game to give the Tribe seventh graders (3-0) the win. Will Homan also scored on an 8-yard TD run in the third quarter.
The loss dropped the eighth grade squad to 1-2.[[In-content Ad]]
