DELPHOS, Ohio — The Indians are playing their best volleyball as they head into their toughest match of the season.
Fort Recovery High School picked up its fourth win in 11 days on Tuesday as it knocked off the host St. John’s Blue Jays 25-14, 25-11, 20-25, 27-25.
Libero Kelsey Fiely, a senior, racked up 18 digs and 11 service points in the win for the Indians (8-12, 2-6 Midwest Athletic Conference), who defeated Ansonia in three games Monday and have won four of their last five matches. Sierra Pugh had 12 assists and eight blocks, and Cassidy Rammel totaled 11 assists, 10 digs, eight kills and six service points.
Haley Knapke put up nine blocks, Hannah Kaup scored nine service points and Kendra Siefring matched Rammel with eight kills.
Fort Recovery lost the junior varsity match 21-25, 25-13, 25-22. Julie Wendel had 15 digs and 11 service points, and Morgan Lennartz added 10 service points, four aces and three blocks.

SA spikers roll
UNION CITY — South Adams’ volleyball team got off to a slow start Tuesday, but got on track quickly and picked up a 25-17, 25-17, 25-12 victory over the Union City Indians.
Cady Farlow led the Starfires to their first win in a five-game match this year with 15 kills, 12 digs and four aces. Their other two wins came at invitational tournaments.
Alyssa Bluhm followed Farlow with 14 kills and 11 digs. Ashlynn Jennings put up 41 assists.
The SAHS junior varsity team also won, 25-22, 25-16. Brittany Potts finished with 11 assists, and Kylie Grabau had eight kills.

Indians split
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Middle School seventh grade volleyball team picked up a 25-19, 25-18 victory Tuesday over the St. John’s Blue Jays.
The eighth graders lost, 25-17, 25-23.
Carley Stone led the way for the seventh grade Indians with 11 service points, eight kills, one block and one dig. Grace Thien added five service points, four kills, two blocks and one dig, and Madi Grover finished with six assists.
Devin Post finished with six service points, three assists and two kills to lead the eighth grade squad. Carly Link scored five service points, and Abby Wenning totaled three kills.

Starfires win
BERNE — South Adams Middle School eighth grade football team blanked the visiting Woodlan Warriors 12-0 Tuesday. The seventh graders won 2-0.
J.D. Groh scored touchdowns on runs of 7 and 3 yards in the second half to pace the eighth grade squad (3-3, 2-3 Allen County Atheltic Conference). He ran for 77 yards, and Corbin Blomeke added 63 rushing yards and nine tackles.
The lone points in the seventh grade game came when Woodlan snapped the ball out of the end zone for a safety. Joe Stuber had 111 rushing yards and made 13 tackles for the Starfires (3-3, 2-3 ACAC), and Brandon Newman added four tackles.[[In-content Ad]]
