FRHS rolls over Tigers

FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery High school volleyball team cruised to a 25-9, 25-11, 25-10 victory Monday over the Ansonia Tigers.
Abby Backs led the victory for the Indians, who are now 6-14, with 16 points and 15 digs against Ansonia (4-15). Holly Brunswick added 12 kills and six digs, and Shelby Brunswick had eight points and six digs.
Olivia Thien had 10 kills and Kayla Kahlig finished with 10 assists for Fort Recovery, which has earned five of its six wins against non-conference opponents. Its final two matches of the regular season come against Midwest Athletic Conference Rivals St. John’s and Division IV No. 1 Marion Local.
The Tribe also won 25-21, 25-16 in junior varsity action.
Amy Link led the victory with five points, five digs and four kills. Heather Vaughn totaled eight points, Emily Link had five assists, Rashell Muhlenkamp added five digs and Kelsey Fiely finished with four kills.

Middle school
ANSONIA, Ohio — Fort Recovery picked up a pair of wins as the eighth grade team topped Ansonia 25-20, 25-12 while the seventh graders earned a 25-15, 25-13 victory.
Rachel Pugh finished with seven points and five assists to lead the eighth graders, and Tori Lennartz had nine kills. Haley Knapke scored 10 points, and Cassidy Rammel had five assists and four kills.
Julie Wendel totaled six points and a kill for the seventh grade Indians. Morgan Lennartz had eight points, including five aces.[[In-content Ad]]
