Hare has game-winner

With the game tied and the bases loaded in extra innings, Gaven Hare slapped a game-winning single to lift Pioneer Packaging to a 6-5 victory over Inman U-Loc in the Pee Wee Reese Championship.
Also Wednesday night, the Sandy Koufax championship game went to nine innings before Graphic Printing was able to take down Winchester 14-12.
Pioneer Packaging was down 3-2 going into the bottom of the sixth but not for long as Levi Long sent a solo-shot over the right field fence to lead off the inning and even the score.
In extra innings — in which the player to make the last out starts as a runner on second base — both Inman’s and Pioneer scored to send the game to an eighth inning.
Inman’s got on the board again in the top of the inning as Nicholas Nickson drove in Caleb Kunkle to set a 5-4 lead.
In the bottom half, Payton Heniser evened the score with an RBI single, Inman’s intentionally walked Long and gave up a walk before Hare hit the game-winner.
Long had two RBIs on a double and his home run, and Heniser added two hits, two runs and an RBI to lead Pioneer.
Caleb Kunkle had a hit, a run, and drove in one for Inman’s.
In the Sandy Koufax game, Graphic Printing surrendered a 9-6 lead in the seventh to take the game into extra innings.
Both teams added one in the eighth before Graphic Printing scored four times on a streak of four singles opened up by Jonathan Heaps.
Winchester scored twice in the bottom of the ninth and the tying run was at the plate, but Graphic Printing was able to force a groundout to close the game which ended close to midnight.
Bowen Runyon had three hits and three runs, Mitchell Kunkler hit an inside-the-park homer, scored three times and drove in two, and Mitchell Bruggeman had two hits, two runs and two RBIs for Graphic Printing in the win.
Kyle Bates drove in three to lead Winchester in the loss.[[In-content Ad]]
