Sara Heitkamp and the Capital women’s basketball team are on a roll again.
Heitkamp, who graduated from Fort Recovery in 2002, scored 13 and 17 points in her last two games as the NCAA Division III No. 11 Crusader women’s basketball team ran its winning streak to five games.
Heitkamp’s 17 points in Capital’s 74-54 victory over Heidelberg Wednesday were a team high as she shot 6-of-7 from the field, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range. She also had six rebounds, two assists and a steal.
The senior had eight rebounds, three assists and four steals to go along with her 13 points as Capital (13-1) clobbered Ohio Northern 63-38 Jan. 7.
Heitkamp is among the Ohio Athletic Conference leaders in almost every statistical category, leading the league with 57 steals. She is third in assists (52) and fourth in both scoring (17.1 points per game) and free throw percentage (80).
She ranks fifth in field goal percentage (57) and seventh in rebounding (6.6 per game).

A 2004 Jay County graduate and Ancilla College sophomore, Overton scored eight points in the Charger men’s basketball team’s 77-67 loss to Grand Rapids Jan. 7. Ancilla is now 6-7 on the season.

The 2003 graduate of Fort Recovery had one rebound and one assist as the NCAA Division II No. 11 Findlay men’s basketball team topped Hillsdale College 73-64 Thursday. Findlay holds a 13-2 record and is 6-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.[[In-content Ad]]
