Kurtis Hess had another excellent tournament effort this weekend.
Hess, who won a tournament in Cincinnati a few weeks ago, picked up another title at the Midwest Nationals in Bloomington, Illinois.
The Jay County High School senior won his championship match over Drew Lockwood of Delaware despite falling behind 5-1.
He got to the finals with a 14-7 victory over Missouri’s Cory Myler and a pin to top Tyler Babcock of Illinois.
Pennville 5K
PENNVILLE — Ian Thomas and Jeff Bailey topped the men’s division in the 5K run at the Pennville Legion-Lions Fair Saturday.
Thomas won the 25-and-younger division, and Bailey topped in the 25-and-older.
Jill Roughia took top honors in the women’s 25-and-younger division, and Becky Brooker was first in the over 25-and-older.
Heather Cash and Linda Dyzkiewicz tied in the 30-and-younger of the 5K walk, and Sue Paxson was first in the over 30-and-older.[[In-content Ad]]
