High Roller teams win three (11/28/05)

The Jay County High Rollers bowling teams had another good weekend, posting three victories.
The varsity boys knocked off Bluffton 11.5-8.5, the girls clobbered Blackford 19-1 and the junior varsity boys defeated Marion 11-9.
Thomas McCowan led the varsity boys team, which took a 9-1 lead and managed 2.5 points in the second game to hold on for the victory. He had the high game and series of 234 and 406 respectively.
Cory Mock was the lone High Roller to score two points.
The girls picked up their easy win with Summer Roush, Lauren Spahr and Amanda Barnett each scoring two points. Roush had the top scores with a 211 game and 386 series.
Coty Bragg scored two points and posted a 225 game and 404 series for the JV squad.
Tigers top South Adams
BERNE — The South Adams girls basketball team couldn’t overcome a rough first quarter in a 55-48 loss to the Bluffton Tigers Friday night.
The Starfires (1-3) gave up 18 first-quarter points to fall into an eight points deficit. They pulled to within four at the end of the third quarter, but could not come all the way back.
Julie Muhlenkamp just missed a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds in the Allen County Athletic Conference opener. She also had three blocked shots.
Erin McCollum had 14 points, half of which came from the foul line, and three assists. Jessie Liechty added five assists, Kayla Coblentz had four steals and Andrea Moser grabbed four rebounds.
Marah Kyle paced Bluffton with 21 points. Jenifer Johnson had 16 points, and Courtney Lesh scored eight.[[In-content Ad]]
