Imel, Champ lead Daleville destruction (04/21/04)

Jay County Roundup

Daleville picked the wrong time to show up on the Jay County softball team’s schedule.

The Patriots lost 17-1 to Anderson Highland Monday, and proceeded to take out all of their frustrations on Daleville Tuesday. They hammered the host Warriors 21-3 for a five-inning victory.

The mammoth outburst put the Patriots up 21-0, as Brittany Logue carried a no-hitter through the first four innings. She got the win allowing three runs on four hits while walking three and striking out two.

Stephanie Imel and Amber Champ continued to lead the Jay County offense, both finishing 3-for-4. Imel doubled, drove in three runs and scored three times, and Champ had a triple, three runs, three RBIs and a pair of stolen bases.

Imel raised her batting average to .583, while Champ is hitting .519.
