Indian girls top Tri-Village

FORT RECOVERY — The Indians built a big lead, fought off a furious charge and then pulled away again.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls basketball team rebounded from their loss Thursday to New Knoxville for a 64-56 victory Saturday over the Tri-Village Patriots.
The Indians (14-6) dominated the second quarter to take a 12-point lead into the half and then extended the advantage on a Tori Lennartz 3-pointer to open the third quarter. Tri-Village came roaring back with 16-2 run over the course of the next four minutes, but FRHS never gave up the lead and pushed back ahead by as many as 16 points in the fourth quarter en route to the win.
Kelsey Fiely totaled 16 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead Fort Recovery. Tori Lennartz had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Chelsea Pottkotter also reached double figures with 10 points.
FRHS won the junior varsity game 37-20 as Kendra Siefring finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

D key for 8th grade
ROCKFORD, Ohio — Fort Recovery Middle School’s eighth grade boys basketball team opened with a 26-17 victory over the Marion Local Flyers in the Mdiwest Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by Parkway.
The seventh grade squad lost 30-14 to Marion Local.
Caleb Martin paced the Indian eighth grade team (12-5) with 10 points. Kyle Knapke added nine points.
Ethan Schoen and Cade Wendel each scored four points for the seventh grade squad.

Seventh advances
FORT RECOVERY — The FRMS seventh grade girls basketball team dominated on its home floor Saturday, opening the Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament with a 36-9 victory over the Marion Local Flyers.
The eighth grade Indians ended their season with a 45-31 loss to the Minster Wildcats.
Chloe Metzger scored nine points to lead the Tribe seventh graders, who were up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. Grace Thien added seven points, and Carley Stone scored five.
Whitney Will had eight points for the eighth grade team, which finished at 8-10. Jocie Kaiser and Logan Ranly chipped in six points apiece.[[In-content Ad]]
