Indians fall to No. 6 Versailles

FORT RECOVERY — The number six has not been kind to the Indians.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls basketball team dropped its second straight game to a team ranked sixth in the state, falling 53-42 Thursday to the Division III Versailles Tigers. The Indians lost to Division IV No. 6 Fort Loramie on Tuesday.
Tori Lennartz finished with 12 points to lead the Tribe (10-4, 4-1 Midwest Athletic Conference), which trailed by as many as 15 points in the third quarter and never got closer than eight in the fourth. Chelsea Pottkotter added eight points and seven rebounds, and Kara Jutte grabbed eight boards.
Katie Heckman paced Versailles (14-1, 6-0 MAC) with 15 points. Courtney Prenger had nine points and four assists.
Fort Recovery dropped the junior varsity game 43-35 after being tied with the Tigers through three quarters. Haley Knapke had eight points and eight rebounds for the Indians.

Seventh bounces back
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season to shut out the Marion Local Flyers in the first half Thursday on the way to a 30-10 victory. The eighth grade team fell, 37-34.
Carley Stone scored six points to lead a balanced effort for the FRMS seventh grade team (10-1), which lost to Versailles on Tuesday. Claire Metzger added five points.
Jocie Kaiser finished with 12 points for the eighth grade Indians, who dropped to 6-5. Whitney Will followed with eight points.

MS boys fall to Tigers
VERSAILLES — The middle school boys basketball teams each fell to the Versailles Tigers Thursday, the eighth graders by a 37-28 score and the seventh grade squad by a 40-13 final.
Micaiah Cox was the only Indian to reach double figures as he tallied 18 points for the eighth grade Indians. Travis Sutter scored six points.
Evan Post finished with three points as the seventh grade team slipped to 5-5. Ethan Schoen, Will Homan, Cade Wendel, Clint Metzger and Trevor Vaughn each had two points.[[In-content Ad]]
