Indians fall to St. Henry

FORT RECOVERY - Giving up two runs in the third inning, the Fort Recovery High School softball team dropped the battle for second place in the MAC Thursday 4-1 to the St. Henry Redskins.
Andi Sutter suffered the loss for the Indians (9-7, 3-2 Midwest Athletic Conference), giving up four runs - two earned - on eight hits and a walk. The victory improved St. Henry to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the MAC to take second place in the league behind Parkway (8-6, 4-0 MAC).
Shelby Brunswick finished 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Tribe offense. Olivia Thien also had two hits and scored the lone FRHS run.
'Dogs top baseball
CELINA, Ohio - The Indians' 11th straight loss came by way of a no-hitter as they fell 11-1 in five innings Thursday to the Celina Bulldogs.
Fort Recovery (1-11) led the game after scoring in the top of the second inning, but the Bulldogs put seven runs on the board in the bottom. Hayden Pottkotter took the loss, giving up 11 runs on 14 hits in four innings.

ST. HENRY - Fort Recovery committed six errors and gave up 11 unearned runs Thursday in a 13-3, five-inning loss to Celina.
Becca Tobe took the loss for the Tribe, allowing six hits and five walks in five innings. FRHS scored twice in its first at bat, but allowed four runs in the bottom of the first and struggled the rest of the way.
Melissa Lochtefeld went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI for the Indians. Sierra Loya had a single, a double, and two RBIs, and Brittany Sudhoff scored twice.[[In-content Ad]]
