COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Indians dropped one, but stayed in the top 10 after suffering their third loss of the season.
Fort Recovery is ranked ninth in Division IV in this week’s Associated Press poll, which was released Monday. The Tribe was eighth last week.
The Indians (16-3) earned 62 poll points, finishing 19 behind eighth-ranked Old Fort (18-2). Toledo Christian is ranked 10th with 42 points, and New Bremen finished 11th in the voting with 22 points.
Fort Recovery fell 65-62 to New Knoxville on Friday for its third Midwest Athletic Conference loss of the year. They rebounded for a 73-65 win Saturday over Northmont, a Division I school located about 15 miles northwest of Dayton.
Other MAC schools ranked in the top 10 are St. Henry at No. 5 in Division IV and Versailles at No. 10 in Division III.

Redskins top FRHS
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery freshman boys basketball team dropped its season finale Monday, 42-35 to the St. Henry Redskins.
Chase Bruns scored 12 points for the Indians, who finished at 7-3. J.J. Overton had eight points, and Brandon Schoen added seven points.

Jay swimmers win
MONROE — The Jay County middle school boys swim team picked up its first win of the season Monday as it edged the host Adams Central Flying Jets 88-87. The girls team also won as it took first place in all but one event.
Ian Reynolds led the Jay County boys to the victory as he took first place in both the 50-yard freestyle and 200 freestyle. Taylor Smeltzer, Cody Moser, Alex LeMaster and Daniel Ostrowski added one win apiece.
Kaitlin Dow took the top spot for the girls team in the 100 individual medley and 400 freestyle, and Sydney Mathias picked up victories in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Elizabeth McDowell finished first in the 200 freestyle, and Jamie Valentine, Alex Bader and Courtney Miles also added one win apiece.

West Jay boys win
HARTFORD CITY — West Jay Middle School’s sixth grade boys basketball team cruised to a 43-22 victory Monday over Blackford.
Gabe Faulkner racked up 20 points to lead the Eagles, who improved to 6-4. Wyatt Geesaman added 13 points, and five other players added two apiece.
WJMS won the B team game 28-22 with Nick Raines scoring eight points.[[In-content Ad]]
