Indians top Fort Loramie (04/10/04)

Friday was a big day for triples for the Fort Recovery Indians girls softball team.
The varsity racked up four triple-baggers to edge Fort Loramie 9-8.
Triples came from Krystal Rammel, Alyssa Tobe, Ciera Rammel, and Renee Evers.
Krystal Rammel also doubled.
Megan Wenning and Lisa Grisez each had two RBIs for the Lady Indians, while Ciera Rammel, Krystal Rammel, Alyssa Tobe, Julie Smith, and Renee Evers each had one RBI.
Julie Smith pitched 6 1/2 innings, giving up 9 hits and striking out five batters.
The win puts Fort Recovery at 4-1 for the season.
JV falls
Home plate was busy real estate in Friday’s JV contest between Fort Recovery and Fort Loramie.
Final score in the girls softball match-up was 23-14 in favor of Fort Loramie.
Jodi Tobe homered for the Indians. Jill Wehrkamp, Sam Staugler, and Lauren Wenning trippled. Staugler, Tobe, and Jenny Guggenbiller racked up doubles.
Fall short
The baseball Indians’ season record fell to 1-4 Friday with a loss to Fort Loramie by a mark of 8-5.
Fort Recovery jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first, only to trail by 5-4 at the end of the second. Fort Loramie extended its lead in the fourth to 7-4 and the Indians couldn’t come back.
The Indians chalked up just three hits in the game, including a double by C.J. Tobe. Meanwhile, pitchers Nick Wehrkamp and Dusty Guggenbiller gave up four hits each.
Fort Loramie also won the JV game by a score of 8-6. Kevin Schoenherr had three singles. Troy Metzger had a pair of singles. And Kenton Sudhoff tripled.[[In-content Ad]]
