Jay County Summer Swim Team
UNION CITY - The Jay County Summer Swim Team left no doubt in its final dual meet.
The squad dominated the 13-14-year-old and 15-and-older divisions in an 849-349 victory over Union City. The victory gave Jay County a 9-2 record for the season.
Siblings Eme and Sam Miller and Mary and Aaron Hudson combined for sweeps in the 13-14-year-old girls and 15-and-older boys events.
Eme Miller took the 13-14-year-old girls long freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke while Mary Hudson won the backstroke, individual medley and short freestyle. Aaron Hudson was first in the 15-and-older boys long freestyle, individual medley and breaststroke, and Sam Miller won the butterfly, backstroke and short freestyle.
Lucas Holcomb added victories in the 13-14-year-old boys long freestyle, backstroke and short freestyle, and Cori Vormohr took the 15-and-older girls long freestyle, individual medley and short freestyle.
Katy Smeltzer and Caitlin Mark also swept the 11-12-year-old girls events. Smeltzer was first in the long freestyle, butterfly and backstroke, and Mark's victories came in the individual medley, breaststroke and short freestyle.
Sok Vormohr picked up wins in the 9-10-year-old boys long freestyle, butterfly and backstroke.
Alex Bader, Eliza Bader, Christopher McDowell, Tayler Smeltzer, Anne Vormohr, Cori Stone, Ashley Mark, Evan Mathias, Zane Shreve and Aly Miller all won a pair of events. Single wins came from Carley Stone, Audrey Shreve, Daniel Ostrowski, David Ostrowski, Connor Daniels, Zach James, Adam Abbott, Mathew Shoup and Joey Miller.[[In-content Ad]]
