Jay Co. blanks Bruins (08/29/06)
JCHS JV/freshman football
HARTFORD CITY - It didn't matter which team was on the field Monday night. Neither defense was giving anything up.
Jay County's junior varsity and freshman football teams took turns against the Blackford Bruins' junior varsity squad, coming away with a 19-0 victory. The Patriot JV played the first and fourth quarters, and the freshmen played the second and third.
While both Jay County defenses stood strong, the junior varsity accounted for all of the points in the game.
John Hawn led the effort with his 169 yards through the air as he finished 4-of-7 passing. He hit Dustin Harris for a 62-yard touchdown in the first quarter, then found Brandon Reynard with a 66-yard strike for a TD in the fourth. Sha White also had a 5-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter.
