Jay Co. boys top the Knights (03/03/04)

The Jay County middle school boys swim team picked up a victory Tuesday, topping Muncie North 98-77. The girls team lost to Muncie North 100-83.

Chance Milligan paced the boys team with a pair of victories.

He was first in the 100-yard freestyle with a personal-best time of 1:09.39. He also won the 50-yard freestyle in 30.44.

Lance VanSkyock added a personal-best time in his 100-yard backstroke win with a time of 1:25.19. Steven Kelly was first in diving with 47.55 points.

Cori Vormohr earned a couple of wins for the girls team, including yet another team record.

Vormohr set a new team-best mark in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:49.62. She was also the winner of the 100-yard backstroke in 1:08.70.

Briann Saxman was first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:35.74. Mindy Doyle made it a diving sweep for Jay County with a score of 79.40.

Ivy Simons also had another excellent meet for the girls team, finishing second and third in her two events. She has had personal bests in each of her six events in the last three meets.[[In-content Ad]]
