FORT RECOVERY - After slipping to 3-2, the Jay County Summer Swim Team got back on track Monday. It picked up two wins in one night, scoring 737 points at Ambassador Pool to finish ahead of host Fort Recovery (493) and Arcanum (162).
Jay County owned the 9-10-year-old and 15-and-older divisions, scoring sweeps in both.
Adam Young won the 9-10-year-old boys backstroke, breaststroke and short freestyle, and Sok Vormohr took the long freestyle, butterfly and individual medley. Sok's sister Anne was first in the girls backstroke, individual medley and short freestyle, and their cousin Sophie Bader took the top spot in the long freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke.
The brother and sister pair of Sam Miller and Aly Miller won the 15-and-older boys long freestyle, individual medley and short freestyle and the girls long freestyle, butterfly and individual medley respectively. Cori Vormohr took the 15-and-older girls backstroke, breaststroke and short freestyle, and Aaron Hudson won the boys butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke.
Mary Hudson and Eme Miller teamed to win every 13-14-year-old girls event. Hudson was first in the long freestyle, butterfly, and breststroke, and Miller took the backstroke, individual medley and short freestyle.
Alex Bader on the 8-and-younger girls long freestyle, butterfly and individual medley, and Zane Shreve was first in the 11-12-year-old boys long freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke.
Daniel Ostrowski, Caitlin Mark and Katy Smeltzer each won two events. Audrey Shreve, Eliza Bader, Haley Confer, Evan Mathias and Lucas Holdcomb added one win apiece.[[In-content Ad]]
