GENEVA - With four scores in the 40s, the Jay County High School boys golf team picked up a 182-189 victory over the host South Adams Starfires at Golf Club of the Limberlost.
Drew Houck earned medalist honors for the Patriots (4-6), turning in their lone birdie of the day on the 346-yard, par-4 sixth hole. He played at 1-under par on the last four holes, parring the last three, on the way to a 40.
Mark Smith posted the top score for South Adams with a 43.
Austin Mann and Evan Ryder each had one par as they finished with matching 47s. Mann's par came on the 486-yard, par-5 eight hole, and Ryder's came on the 128-yard, par- 3 ninth.
Mitchel Rigby turned in a couple of pars for JCHS as he rounded out the team score with a 48. Ritchie Carducci finished with a 52.
Alex Habegger followed Smith for the Starfires with a 47, and Mark Muselman shot 48. Stuart Poulson completed the team score with a 51, and Daniel Heckard shot 54.
In the junior varsity match Jacob Heitkamp finished with a 48 to lead Jay County to a 205-227 victory. Zach Grabau led SAHS with a 54.[[In-content Ad]]
