Jay Co. JV steals one from Scots (10/07/03)

Jay County Roundup

Jay County’s junior varsity football team pulled off a Colts-like comeback a few hours before Indianapolis shocked the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Trailing 26-6 after three periods, the Patriots scored 21 fourth-quarter points. Adam Foster hit Micah Enyart with a 45-yard touchdown pass with 12 seconds left, and Chris Elmore hit the extra point for the Jay County win.

The touchdown reception was one of two in the game for Enyart. He also caught a 65-yard scoring pass from Justin Gilbert.

Josh Parker had the other two Patriot touchdowns, scoring on runs of four and seven yards.

Josh Glessner caught a two-point conversion pass from Foster.

Elmore booted a pair of onside kicks in the fourth quarter, recovering one himself. Bill Spahr had the other onside kick recovery.

Jess Lewellen forced a fumble and came up with the recovery.

Bluffton proved too powerful for the Jay County freshman football team (3-2) last week, defeating the Patriots 22-14.

Josh Johnson and Kaleb Carpenter connected on two touchdown passes in the game for scores of four and 57 yards. Johnson also passed to Casey Waters for a two-point conversion.
