MONROEVILLE — The Jay County High School volleyball team dropped all three matches to finish last Saturday at the Heritage Invitational.
The Canterbury Cavaliers placed first, the Heritage Patriots placed second and New Haven Bulldogs were third.
The Patriots (4-5) dropped their first match to the Bulldogs 25-10, 25-20. The host Heritage Patriots defeated Jay County 25-12, 25-20, and then Canterbury defeated JCHS 25-18, 18-25, 15-10.
Kylie Osborne led Jay County with 11 kills. Bre McIntire added eight kills and Ava Kunkler and Abby Wendel each had five.
Lizzy Schoenlein tallied 33 assists.
JV spikers eighth
FORT WAYNE — The Jay County junior varsity volleyball team finished eighth out of 16 teams Saturday at the Carroll Invitational.
After dropping its first game, Jay County rallied to win the opening match against the Prairie Heights Black Panthers 17-25, 25-21, 15-11.
The Patriots then fell to host Carroll (25-10, 25-8), Adams Central (25-16, 25-23) and Fort Wayne North Side (25-16, 17-25, 15-10) to finish 1-3 on the day.
Abby Barcus led the Patriots with 11 kills and 10 digs. Audrey Shreve tallied 10 kills, while Jessica Kerrigan totaled 25 assists and five digs.[[In-content Ad]]
