PORTLAND — Three swimmers on each team posted a pair of victories, but their teams came away with different results.
The Jay County middle school girls swim team improved to 4-0 with a 110-76 win over Norwell Monday.
But, the boys team dropped to 2-2 as it fell 104-77 to the Knights.
Ivy Simons paced the victory for the girls as she won both of her individual events with personal-best times. She was first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1-minute, 16.83 seconds and the 200 freestyle in 2:30.75.
Briann Saxman also posted a personal-best time as she finished first in the 100 individual medley in 1:14.53. She added a second win in the 400 freestyle in 6:08.31.
Cori Vormohr picked up two more victories for the Jay County girls, winning the 50 butterfly in 28.25 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.43.
Simons, Saxman, Vormohr and Michelle Landfair teamed for first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:58.07. The same group won the 300 freestyle relay in 3:10.69.
Michelle Landfair added a personal-best time of 1:07.10 to win the 100 freestyle.
The boys team got two wins apiece from Chance Milligan, Lance VanSkyock and Steven Kelly in the defeat.
Miligan had a personal-best time of 1:02.31 to win the 100 freestyle, and also took first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 33.84.
VanSkyock notched a personal-best 1:19.16 in his 100 breaststroke victory while also winning the 50 butterfly in 32.31.
Miligan, VanSkyock, Nathan Cain and Richard Osterholt teamed for first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 2:04.92.
Kelly finished the 400 freestyle in 5:51.02 for the victory, and won the diving competition with 105.15 points.[[In-content Ad]]
