A final score wasn’t available. Then again, it wasn’t really necessary.

The Jay County Summer Swim team was dominant in its victory over Union City Monday night.

Swimming at home for the first time this season, Jay County swept the 8-and-younger girls division, finished first in all 18 relays and won 46-of-60 individual events. Thirty-one different swimmers earned at least one win, including a record-breaking effort from Anne Vormohr.

In her lone victory of the night, Vormohr set new team and pool records in the 8-and-younger girls 100-yard individual medley. She broke the pool record by three seconds and the 14-year-old team record by two seconds.

Alysha Miller and Aaron Hudson each won three events in the 13-14-year-old division, and Sok Vormohr and Sam Miller added three victories apiece in their respective age groups.

Miller and Hudson had matching nights, each winning the long freestyle, butterfly and short freestyle in the girls and boys competitions respectively. Sok Vormohr took first in the 8-and-younger boys butterfly, individual medley and short freestyle, and Sam Miller won the 15-and-older boys long freestyle, individual medley and breaststroke.

Adding two wins apiece were 11-12-year-olds Michaela Long, Eme Miller, Lucas Holcomb and Caleb Hummel, 13-14-year-old Michelle Landfair and 15-and-older swimmers Cori Vormohr and Tom McCord.

Joining Anne Vormohr to sweep the 8-and-younger girls events were Sophie Bader, Alex Bader, Ashley Mark, Emma Laux and Madi Long.[[In-content Ad]]
