Jay County Summer Swim Team
BERNE — The Jay County Summer Swim Team broke three more records in picking up its fifth win Tuesday.
Anne Vormohr was in on all of the records in the 8-and-younger girls division as Jay County defeated host South Adams 688-508. The visiting team won 14 of 20 relays and three-quarters of the 60 individual events.
Vormohr set the lone individual record of the evening, breaking her own mark in the individual medley by 2.5 seconds in 1-minute, 35.31 seconds. She added victories in the long freestyle and backstroke.
She also teamed with Madi Long, Sophie Bader and Cori Stone as the team broke the medley relay record for the second straight night. The same foursome also bettered the previous freestyle relay record by 6.5 seconds.
Sophie Bader added a trio of individual wins as Jay County’s girls stayed perfect on the season in the youngest age group. She was first in the butterfly, breaststroke and short freestyle.
Jay County also had a pair of triple winners in the 13-14-year-old boys division. Perry Hull took the long freestyle, butterfly and short freestyle while Aaron Hudson was first in the backstroke, individual medley and breaststroke.
Caitlin Mark and Levi Hummel won the 9-10-year-old butterfly, individual medley and short freestyle for the girls and boys respectively. Eme Miller took the 11-12-year-old girls long freestyle, backstroke and short freestyle, and Lucas Holcomb won the boys butterfly, backstroke and short freestyle.
In the 15-and-older girls division, Cori Vormohr picked up victories in the butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke.
Adding two wins apiece were Sok Vormohr, Rachel Vogler, Wiley Young, Alysha Miller, Tina Gingrasso and Sam Miller.[[In-content Ad]]
