Jay County boys garner votes in AP poll (01/10/06)
HS basketball roundup
The Associated Press has taken notice of the Jay County boys basketball team’s success.
The Patriots received votes in the AP poll this week, finishing 17th with eight points. They will have a big chance Friday night to prove they deserve such recognition.
Jay County will visit the Connersville Spartans (7-1), which jumped to fourth from seventh in Class 3A this week. Connersville’s lone defeat came against undefeated Class 3A No. 1 New Castle, while the only loss for the Patriots was against Class 4A No. 8 Muncie Central.
Coach Craig Teagle’s squad also accounts for the only loss on the resume of the Class 2A No. 1 Centerville Bulldogs.
