Jay County fall practice dates set (07/25/03)

With the start of the fall sports season less than a month away, Jay County has released its practice start dates for the year.

Equipment issue for the JCHS football team began today at Harold E. Schutz Stadium for juniors and seniors and will continue Saturday for freshman and sophomores. The sophomore session will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and the freshman session will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Practice for all Jay County football players will begin Monday, Aug. 4 at 8 a.m.

The girls golf team will hit the links for the first time Friday, Aug. 1 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The other fall sports will start practicing Aug. 4, with cross country running at 7:30 a.m.

The girls soccer team will practice from 8 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.

The boys tennis team will practice at 9 a.m., and the boys soccer team will practice from 4 to 7 p.m.

The practice schedule for the volleyball team has not yet been released.

Pool passes discounted

Season Passes for Portland Pool are now half price and the discounted price will last through the rest of the swim season.

Season passes are now $25 for a single pass, $42.50 for a family pass for two to three members and $50 for a family of four or more.

Hours will be 12:30 until 5 p.m. during the week of the Jay County Fair. For all other regular weeks, hours will remain 12:30 to 8 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
