DECATUR — The Jay County Summer Swim Team stayed perfect on the season Thursday with a victory over North Adams Central at Bellmont High School. The final score of the meet was not available.
Sok Vormohr and Levi Hummel led a domination of the 8-and-younger boys events, each winning three. Vormohr was first in the long freestyle, individual medley and breaststroke, and Hummel took the butterfly, backstroke and short freestyle.
Rachel Vogler picked up wins in the 9-10-year-old girls butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke, and Wiley Young was first in the 11-12-year-old boys long freestyle, individual medley and short freestyle. Joseph Miller also earned three victories by winning the 15-and-older boys backstroke, individual medley and breaststroke.
Adding two victories apiece were Sophie Bader, Annie Vormohr, Radney Pearson, Lynne Inman, Michaela Long, Cori Vormohr, Brittany Teagle and Lindsey Vesperry. Jay County (3-0) also won 17 of the 20 relays on the night.
Judan places third
ANDERSON — The team from Judan Judo in Portland placed third in tournament action in Anderson last weekend.
Leading the way to the team result were four individual champions. Winning titles were Casey Kenney, Darion Parks, Hunter Prescott and Colton Prescott.
Brandon Resler, Mackenzie Overholser, Chris LeMaster, Preston Overholser and Lindsey Wall each placed second, and Adam Haffner and Jacob Wall added third-place efforts.[[In-content Ad]]
