Jay County season ends
JCHS tennis
MARION - The Jay County High School boys tennis team closed its season Friday the same way it opened in mid-August: with a 5-0 loss to Marion.
The host and defending sectional champion Giants gave up just two games in the Patriots in advancing today's sectional title match.
Chance Fuller and Jordan McBride had the most success for the JCHS, winning three games at No. 1 doubles. Their loss came by a 6-1, 6-2 score to Andrew Schoer and Daniel Harrold.
At No. 2 doubles Seth Ainsworth and Austin Cowan fell 6-0, 6-2 to Kaman Tabor and Advaith Srikanth, and in the No. 3 singles match Tylor Smith lost 6-0, 6-1 to Nick Fauser.
Jared Valentine (No. 1 singles) and Brad Leuthold (No. 2 singles) lost 6-0 to Brandon Dubuque and Alex Hornett respectively.
The Patriots dropped their final 12 matches by a combined scored of 54-6.[[In-content Ad]]
