Wellman had a double, and Colton Lombardo scored the only run.
The story was much the same in game two as the Bruins went up 7-0. Jay County (4-8) scored a single run in the fourth and two in the fifth and sixth, but could not complete the comeback.
Trey Dunn gave up seven runs - six earned - on five hits and a walk in three innings to take the loss in game two.
