The Patriots made it back-to-back wins over the Tri-Eastern Conference Wednesday.
Jay County's girls golf team posted consecutive victories for the first time this year, topping the Monroe Central Golden Bears 208-235. The Patriots defeated another TEC squad, Winchester, Tuesday evening.
Trisha Champ led Jay County (3-3) at Portland Golf Club with a 45, easily finishing as the match medalist. Monroe Central's top score was a 54 from Danielle Wright.
Miranda Denney followed Champ for the Patriots with a 53, and Ashley Bunch added a 54. Brittany Lewis added a 56, and Ivy Simons shot 58.
Jay County's junior varsity team improved to 3-0 with a 259-305 victory over the Golden Bears led by a 59 from Jennifer Hunt.
Brittany Schlater shot 65, Rachael Osterholt had a 66 and Alex Bunch shot 69.
Norwell crushes girls soccer
OSSIAN - Brittany Hartman made sure the Jay County girls soccer team's undefeated record would fall, scoring three times to lead the Norwell Knights to a 4-0 win over the Patriots Wednesday.
Hartman started her hat trick midway through the first half, breaking a scoreless tie. She scored again 10 minutes later when Jay County goalie Abby Loy vacated the goal and the defense was late to back her up, and added a third score just one minute later.
Alyssa Jones posted the final tally for the Knights with 2-minutes, 35 seconds left in the opening half. Norwell took nine shots in the opening half, connecting on nearly half.
The Patriots (2-1-1) had 12 shots for the game led by five from Sara Garringer and three by Pazia Speed.[[In-content Ad]]
