The Jay County middle school boys swim team clobbered the Adams Central Jets 130-29 Monday. The girls team fell, 100-86.
Luke Holcomb, Richard Osterholt and Wiley Young each picked up a pair of victories for the boys team.
Osterholt’s wins both came by narrow margins as he was first in the 100-yard individual medley by 15 hundredths of a second in 1-minute, 17.93 seconds. He won the 100 freestyle by less than a second in 1:08.91.
Holcomb took the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and Young earned victories in the 50 butterfly and 400 freestyle.
Also winning for Jay County were: Neal Fennig - 200 freestyle; Colton Smith - 100 breaststroke; and A.J. Pettyjohn - diving.
The girls team came up with four victories, including a diving win from Megan Taylor. Darian Barnett won the 50 butterfly, Michelle Landfair was first in the 100 freestyle and Laura Bowen took the 200 freestyle.[[In-content Ad]]
