HUNTINGTON — The Jay County boys golf team’s season came to an end Friday.
The Patriots finished eighth in the 12-team field with a score of 345 at the sectional tournament hosted by Huntington North at LaFontaine Golf Club.
The host Vikings thanks to the tie-breaker with a score of 298. Marion also scored a 298, and Mississinewa was third at 314.
Josh Hall had the top score for Jay County with an 80. After a 42 on the front nine he went par-birdie-birdie-par on holes 10 through 13 for a 38 on the back.
James Brosher had a birdie and four pars in his round for an 86, and Ben Gasca had seven pars to finish at 88. Adam Gray rounded out the team score at 91.

The Portland 10-and-younger All-Stars defeated Delta 7-5 in Tri-County League action at Weiler-Wilson Park Thursday. The score was listed incorrectly in Friday’s The Commercial Review.
Devon Roosa and Brody Speed each had a hit and a run to lead the Portland victory. Jason Houston, Zach Pryor, Drue Armstrong, Chaz Carroll and Kalib Allen each added a run.[[In-content Ad]]
