Local Roundup

Members of the Jay County golf team didn’t pack it in after the season ended in June. They were just getting started, and had a successful summer on the links.

Fellow senior Nathan McClung played events in the Fort Wayne Parks Department Pepsi Tour, placing sixth twice. Jesse Shawver, a 2003 graduate, earned Academic All-State honorable mention for his senior season.

Also, Adam Gray, a future Patriot golfer, played in the 12-13-year-old age group on the Fort Wayne tour and placed fourth overall with 75 points. He hit a hole-in-one on the 210-yard eighth hole at Hickory Hills Golf Club in Bluffton July 20.
