DECATUR - South Adams and Jay County runners took the top two spots at Tuesday's Bellmont Invitational. Their teams did the same, but in reverse order.
Aly Miller was the runner-up to lead the Patriot girls cross country team to victory with 54 points. Hannah Moore won the race as the Starfires finished second overall with 56.
Fort Wayne North Side was third with 83 in the eight-team field.
In the boys competition, South Adams finished third out of eight teams with 82 points. Jay County was sixth with 187 while North Side (30) won and the host Braves (44) placed second.
Moore dominated the field to win by 32 seconds, but her effort was no enough to overcome the Patriots' five runners in the top 17.
She won the race in 20-minutes, 18.24 seconds with Miller, who improved by 41 seconds over Saturday's Celina Rotary Invitational, followed in 20:50.47.
