JC swimmers top Halteman
Jay County Summer Swim Team
MUNCIE — Sweeps in five divisions led the Jay County High School Summer Swim Team to a 607-557 victory Monday over host Halteman Village.
Four swimmers combined to dominate the 8-and-younger girls division, with Ashlyn Dow winning the backstroke and short freestyle and Eliza Bader taking the individual medley and breaststroke. Lilly Clemmons and Kearsten Myers added victories in the long freestyle and butterfly respectively.
Sydney Mathias won the 11-12-year-old girls long freestyle, backstroke and short freestyle, and Alex Bader was first in the butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke. In the 13-14-year-old girls races, Sophie Bader was first in the long freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke while Anne Vormohr won the backstroke, individual medley and short freestyle.
Jay County also swept the 15-and-older girls division with Eme Miller taking the long freestyle, backstroke and short freestyle and Mary Hudson first in the butterfly, individual medley and breaststroke.
