Tuesday's meet provided the perfect Patriot tune-up for the Olympic Athletic Conference Championships.

Jay County High School's girls swim team took first, second and third in six events, including a top-four sweep of the 100-yard butterfly, and crushed the visiting Hagerstown Tigers 216-85. The boys team won seven of 12 events and got plenty of depth points for a 185-109 win.

The Patriots host the OAC Tournament Saturday, with diving preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m. and swimming at 1 p.m.

Freshman Mary Hudson led the most dominant JCHS effort of the evening with her win by nearly eight seconds in the 100 butterfly in 1-minute, 9.09 seconds. Fellow Patriots Briann Saxman, Caitlin Ruchgy and Laura Bowen finished second, third and fourth to complete the sweep.

Hudson led a one-two-three finish in her other victory as well, taking the 100 backstroke in 1:10.83 ahead of Saxman and Marissa Murrell.

Jay County took first through third in both of senior Cori Vormohr's individual wins as well. She was victorious in the 200 individual medley in 2:24.92 with Bowen second and Maddie Fennig third, and she won the 500 freestyle in 5:49.69 in front of Christa Castillo and Elaine Hemmelgarn.

Hudson and Vormohr joined Landfair and Eme Miller to take the 200 medley relay in 2:05 and teamed with Saxman and Ruchgy for first in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:20.36.

On the boys side Sam Miller contributed to four wins, finishing ahead of teammates Wiley Young and Richard Osterholt in the 100 butterfly with a winning time of 55.24.

He also took first place in the 200 freestyle in 1:51.18.

Miller anchored both of the JCHS relay wins, teaming with Aaron Hudson, Derik Lucas and Chance Milligan for first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:37.84 and joining Milligan, Neal Fennig and Nathan Cain to take the 400 freestyle relay in 3:38.86.

Hudson also had a pair of individual wins as he fought off Hagerstown's Alex Forrest by less than a half-second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:14.53.

He was also first in front of teammate Lance VanSkyock in the 100 breaststroke at 1:06.25.

Landfair, Miller, Fennig and Michaela Long won the 200 freestyle relay at 1:59.19, and Patriot teams also took second and third. Landfair also won the 200 freestyle in 2:20.48.

Freshman Katie Simmons finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:18.99 with Long and Kelci Reed in second and third respectively. Megan Taylor led a diving sweep ahead of April Acker and Tricia Skiver with 198.35 points.

Steven Kelly took the top spot in boys diving with 221.2 points.
