FAIRMOUNT - Hannah McAbee avoided a third-set with a tiebreaker win to lock up the Patriots' victory. Megan Huntsman and Briann Saxman forced a third to make it a convincing triumph.

Jay County High School's girls tennis team got three two-set wins Friday, and the victory from Huntsman and Saxman to defeat the host Madison-Grant Argylls.

Kayla Martin turned in a dominant effort at No. 1 singles, rolling over Ashley Robinson 6-0, 6-1. Emily Huntsman and Becky Muhlenkamp were also in control at No. 2 doubles with their 6-4, 6-2 victory over Audrey Niverson and Kristin Showers.

McAbee cruised through her first set at No. 2 singles, but Danielle Smith pushed the second to a tiebreaker. However, McAbee survived without going to a third set for a 6-21, 7-6 (8-6) win.

In the No. 3 singles match, Mariah Clark fell 6-1, 6-3 to Holly Jarvis.
