JCHS track
MUNCIE - Jordan McMillan's wins and plenty of depth extended the Jay County High School girls track team's dual-meet winning streak Thursday. Even four wins from Brandon Reynard wasn't enough for the boys.
McMillan took two events and led a relay win as Jay County posted 68 points. Yorktown was second at the three-team meet with 56, and host Delta (36) was third.
Yorktown won two out of the three relays and held off the Patriots 61.5-58.5 in the boys competition. Delta was third with 41 points.
McMillan dominated the sprints for Jay County's girls, whose last dual-meet loss came in 2007. She posted a time of 13.43 seconds to take the top spot in the 100-meter dash, and won the 200 dash by more than two seconds in 26.49.
The sophomore also anchored the winning 4x100 relay team as she joined Tashina Smith, Katie Butcher and Kelsey Wood for a time of 54.67. McMillan was also the long jump runner-up as JCHS earned seven seconds and seven thirds.
Reynard did everything in his power to lead the Patriot boys, winning both hurdler events easily with times of 16.17 in the 110 and 40.94 in the 300. He also defeated the defending sectional champion, Bart Dawson of Delta, in both the 100 and 200 dashes in 11.21 and 22.04.
