JCHS players compete in Pro Am

A group of local players took part in the Indiana PGA State Junior Pro Am Wednesday.
Jay County High School graduates Adam Gray and Jennifer Hunt and JCHS sophomore Cara Garringer joined Ki-Ann Golf Course pro Randy Hunt, Jennifer's father, in shooting a 3-under-par 68 at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club.
They finished tied for fifth in the 15-team field.
The Dye's Walk Country Club team won with a 61.
The Ki-Ann team shot a 1-over-par on the front nine before coming up with all of their under-par holes on the back, beginning with an eagle from Randy Hunt on the 315-yard, par-4 10th hole. Adam Gray and Randy Hunt each birdied the 355-yard, par-4 12th, and Gray came up with an eagle on the 539-yard, par-5 14th.
Randy Hunt also eagled the 546-yard, par-5 18th hole, on which Gray and Jennifer Hunt each finished with a birdie.
For their individual rounds, Gray shot 74, Garringer posted a 99 and Jennifer Hunt had a 109.

BATESVILLE - Butch Gray turned in a hole-in-one Wednesday at Portland Golf Club.
The Jay County High School golf coach used a 5-iron to ace the 144-yard, par-3 15th hole at PGC.
