JC's Hough to play volleyball at Ancilla (07/30/04)

Local Roundup

Yet another Jay County graduate is headed to Ancilla College.

Sara Hough, who graduated in June, signed a National Junior College Athletic Association letter of intent recently to play volleyball for the Chargers. She is the third athlete from the Jay County class of 2004 to sign with Ancilla.

Hough was a key player for the Patriots as they won back-to-back sectional titles in her sophomore and junior seasons. She was named to the All-Olympic Athletic Conference team three times.

“Pound for pound inch for inch, Sara is the best player Jay County has ever seen,” said Jay County coach Fred Medler in a press release Thursday. “She is truly an all-around player who is never intimidated ...”

Hough will join fellow 2004 graduates Heath Williams (baseball) and Dustin Overton (basketball) at Ancilla. Josh Jellison, a 2003 JCHS graduate, will be in his second season with the Chargers’ baseball team this year.
