Johnson paces Taylor XC (10/20/07)
Collegiate Check-up
After traveling all the way to Wisconsin, Alyssa Johnson made sure the trip was not wasted.
Johnson, a 2006 Jay County High School graduate, turned in the top finish for the Taylor University women's cross country team at the Oct. 14 Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational.
The sophomore paced the Trojans, who finished seventh out of 14 teams, with a time of 19-minutes, 37 seconds to finish in 24th.
Joscie Kaup
Fort Recovery - 2004
Helped lead the Syracuse University volleyball team to a three-game win Oct. 12 over DePaul.
Kaup paced the defense with 13 digs in the victory while also adding five assists. She did a little bit of everything in Sunday's four-game loss to Notre Dame as she totaled 17 digs, three assists, two kills and an ace.
Joseph Vormohr
Jay County - 2006
Started at center for the Hanover College football team as it picked up its first win of the season Oct. 13 by a 30-28 score over Manchester.
Vormohr helped clear the way for running backs Corey Fogle and Tyler Thiems, who picked up most of the Panthers' 211 yards rushing.
Tiff Gaerke
Fort Recovery - 2007
Recorded a kill and a block as the University of Dayton volleyball team ran its record to 21-0 with a three-game win Oct. 13 over Charlotte.
Gaerke also had an assist and a dig Oct. 12 as the Flyers defeated George Washington.

Turned in the No. 6 and 7 times for the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's cross country team as it placed fifth out of 20 teams Oct. 13 at the Wilmington Invitational.
Ian Thomas placed 50th overall in 27-minutes, 22 seconds, and his twin brother Mitchell was just behind him in 51st with an identical time.
