Kahlig takes 3 to lead Fort

ANNA, Ohio — Kylie Kahlig racked up another three wins Friday to lead the Indians to victory.
Six other girls added victories as the Fort Recovery High School girls track team scored 98 points to finish ahead of the Anna Rockets (52) and Elgin (34).
Aaron Vagedes also won three events as the FRHS boys team scored 57 points to finish behind Anna (138) and head of Elgin (51).
Kahlig dominated the sprints for the Indians, taking first place in both the 100-meter dash and 200 dash. She was also first in the shot put.
Vagedes earned all of his three victories in the sprints, winning the 100 dash, 200 dash and 400 dash.
Other wins for the girls team came from Sam Tobe, Jessica Vogel, Caley Schoenherr, Elle Sutter, Kelsey Fiely and Hannah Kaup. Derek Sutter won the 3,200 run for the boys.

Baseball falls in 8
VERSAILLES, Ohio — Fort Recovery had a three-run lead midway through the sixth inning, but fell 11-10 in eight innings Friday to the Versailles Tigers.
The Indians (4-9, 0-2 Midwest Athletic Conference) fell behind 7-3 early but racked up seven straight runs for a 10-7 lead. Versailles responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, and then scored the game-winner in the eighth.
Kent Retz took the loss for the Tribe, which also dropped its MAC opener by one to Parkway.
Chad Schroer had two hits, including a double, two runs and an RBI. Jacob Muhlenkamp added two hits, two RBIs and a run.

JV baseball loses
FORT RECOVERY — The Indians managed just four hits Friday in a 10-0 loss to the Versailles Tigers.
Ray Siefring suffered the loss for Fort Recovery, giving up six runs — three earned — on four hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out one batter.
Versailles broke open the game with four runs in the second inning, and also scored four times in the seventh.
Nathan Lochtefeld, Ben Will, Tony Keller and Nick Link each had one hit for the Indians.

Wenning scores win
FORT RECOVERY — Wes Wenning picked up the lone victory for the host Fort Recovery Middle School track teams Friday as the girls team placed second and the boys finished third in a four-team meet.
Wenning won the high jump for the Tribe boys, clearing the bar at 5 feet, 2 inches. Darien Sheffer was the runner-up at 5 feet.
Chelsea Timmerman placed second in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing just two tenths of a second behind Minster’s Maggie Meiring. Caitlyn Huelskamp was the runner-up in the 800 run in 2:41.7, and Kasey Vogel was second in the discus at 69 feet, 5 inches.
