Kahlig wins three more for Tribe

FORT RECOVERY — The third meet of the season brought another three victories for Kylie Kahlig, as the Fort Recovery High School girls track team scored 54 points to finish second Thursday in a three-team field.
Houston won the girls competition with 96 points, and Jackson Center was third with 10.
In the boys competition, the Indians scored 24 points to trail Houston (113) and Jackson Center (35).
Kahlig, who has won three events at all three Tribe meets this year, finished first in the 100-meter dash in 13.3 seconds and the 200 in 28.1. She also took the top spot in the shot put with a toss of 33 feet.
Jessica Vogel added two wins for Fort Recovery with times of 2:56.5 and 6:13 in the 800 run and 1,600 run respectively.
Aaron Vagedes earned the only wins for the boys team with times of 55.9 in the 400 dash and 11.7 in the 100 dash.
Other wins for the FRHS girls came from Kelsey Fiely in the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches and Caley Schoenherr in the long jump at 12 feet, 9 1-2 inches.

JV baseball wins
ROCKFORD, Ohio — The Indians scored eight times in the first inning and managed to hold off the host Parkway Panthers 13-12.
Parkway rallied back to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, but Fort Recovery scored twice in the top of the sixth and held on for the one-run win.
Derek Backs had a single, two walks, three RBIs and three runs in the victory. He also earned the win as he allowed just one run on one hit in three innings of relief.
Cole Wendel had two hits, including a double, two walks, a run and an RBI, and Nick Link finished 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run.

JV softball falls
COLDWATER, Ohio — Fort Recovery had a 5-1 lead early, but the Coldwater Cavaliers scored runs in every inning as they rallied to knock off the Indians 13-12 in eight innings.
Coldwater tied the game in the fifth inning and added single runs in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth to claim the victory. Ashley Homan allowed 12 hits in five innings in the loss, and Cassidy Rammel gave up just one hit in three innings.
Jackie Fullenkamp led the Tribe offense, going 3-for-4 with a triple, two walks and two runs. Karissa Will was 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored, and Stacy Stammen also went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs.[[In-content Ad]]
