Kaup breaks single-season record (11/04/06)

Every week brings a new milestone.
Just eight days after moving into second on the Syracuse University all-time digs list, Kaup set the school's single-season digs record. The Fort Recovery graduate came up with 25 digs in an Oct. 28 loss to Villanova, pushing her past Rachel Watson's 1999 season total.
Kaup added 15 more digs in a win over Rutgers a day later, pushing her record to 595. Watson's record was 567.
Her total is also best in the Big East, as is her average of 5.31 digs per game.
She added three aces and three assists against Rutgers, and had one ace in the loss to Villanova. The four aces pushed her season total to 53, which is also tops in the Big East.
Krystal Rammel

Was one of just 12 athletes to be selected to the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference Volleyball Team.
Rammel, a Sinclair Community College sophomore joined teammates Amber Dudley and Sarah Wright in picking up first-team honors. The Tartan Pride finished with an 18-13 record overall and 7-3 in the conference.
She finished sixth in the OCCAC in kills with 284. She also had 248 digs, 42 blocks and 26 aces.
Cameron Hummel
Jay County - 2003
Closed out his home career by leading the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football team to a 38-14 victory over Anderson.
Hummel tossed a pair of touchdowns, opening the Engineers' 21-point second quarter with a 26-yard scoring pass to Justin Meade. He added a 33-yard TD pass to Nate Richter four minutes before halftime.
The senior finished 9-of-17 passing for 132 yards. He also rushed nine times for 25 yards.

Posted a pair of first-place finishes as the Wabash College men's swim team defeated Carthage 109-96 Oct. 28.
Weaver picked up his first individual victory of the season, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 22.25 seconds. He also teamed with Robert Dent, Tony Caldwell and Blaine Cooper-Surma for first in the 200 medley relay in 1-minute, 38.83 seconds.
Weaver, Caldwell, Dent and Jordan Blackwell also won the 200 medley relay in 1:39.57 in the Little Giants' win over Illinois Wesleyan and Transylvania Oct. 27. The JCHS graduate was also second in the 100 butterfly
He added a third-place finish in the 200 butterfly at the North Coast Athletic Conference Relays Oct. 21 to go along with a third place in the 200 freestyle relay, fourth in the 200 medley relay and sixth in the 500 freestyle crescendo relay.
Jenny Gresla
South Adams - 2003
Pulled even closer to a career milestone as she helped the Denison University volleyball team to a three-game Oct. 27 over Wooster.
Gresla put up 49 assists in the victory, pushing her career total to 3,975 heading into Friday's North Coast Athletic Conference semifinal match against Hiram. Only sixth players in NCAC history have recorded 4,000 assists.
Tyler Niekamp

Traveled to Columbus with his Findlay University men's basketball team to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in exhibition action Wednesday.
Niekamp hit both of his free throws for two points in 12 minutes of play. The Oilers lost to the Buckeyes, 80-57.[[In-content Ad]]
