Collegiate Check-up
Joscie Kaup wasn't long for eighth place.
Kaup, a 2004 Fort Recovery High School graduate, needed just a week to hurdle three more names on the Syracuse University all-time digs list. She capped her week Friday with 18 digs against San Francisco, pushing to fifth all time with a career total of 1,140.
The junior, who is the Orange's all-time leader in digs per game, was eighth just a week ago, but racked up 105 digs in the last six matches. She moved ahead of 2005 graduates Kristen Conway (1,074) and Kelly Duan (1,091) earlier in the week, then pushed past Carrie Urton (1,129) thanks to her performance against San Francisco.
Kaup's high marks came in the Big Orange tournament Sept. 2-3, where she had 26 digs in a three-game win over Sienna and 25 in a victory over New Hampshire. She also matched a career high Tuesday against Buffalo when she finished with four aces.
